Hi! I’m Deb. I earned my Master’s Degree in Social Work in 2019 and was licensed as a Clinical Social Worker in 2022. I have experience working with adults and adolescents with a trauma-informed lens, holding a certification in Trauma-informed Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT). I also have significant experience in outpatient substance use treatment, domestic violence / batterer’s intervention treatment, and group therapy.
My approach to treatment is person-centered, strengths-based, and collaborative, walking alongside each client in a journey towards their better self. I seek to guide, not lead, by holding up the roadmap to keep us on track and focused on the treatment goals determined by the client. I believe each person is an expert on themselves. They just often need objective help in order to discover new truths, to heal, or to grow.
I bring to my practice 30 years of medical and fitness expertise as a retired US Air Force Family Practice Physician Assistant (PA) who served in the Gulf War. I also hold certifications in personal training and group fitness. This allows me to bring a holistic approach to mental health, appreciating the intersection of mental and physical health. I use a variety of therapeutic approaches including Eye Movement Integration, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Schema Therapy.
