Hello,
I am Jack, a resident-in-counseling, and I look forward to meeting you, listening, and helping you along your journey. I am a husband, father, grandfather, and military veteran serving for over 40 years in the US Air Force and the US Army. I spent 18 months deployed supporting Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom.
I completed my Professional Counseling degree (through Liberty University) with the goal to better understand myself, improve relationships, inform my faith, and help others. I completed my internship at The Center for Child and Family Services in Williamsburg, VA where I worked with children, teens, and adults of all ages.
In group and individual counseling sessions, I will work to reduce anxiety, reduce acute / past trauma effects, identify / reduce depression, reduce/resolve anger management, establish boundaries and make relationship improvements. Counseling techniques and theories I use include Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Trauma Focused-CBT, Eye Movement Integration, Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT), and mindfulness exercises/techniques. I am a Internal Family Systems (IFS) informed therapist, and I enjoy working with people of all ages including children, teens, and adults.
